Getting excited for the birding, the weather and T&T

I will be leaving all this behind and there nothing like winter birding.  These birds, Horned Lark, Northern Shrike and Snowy Owl have moved south for the winter from the far north, so this is their Florida, hard to believe.  Nature is quirky and unpredictable!
Today I started assembling all of the items to pack and what needed to be purchased also.  It was -18 this morning and anything over 15 degrees will be heaven.  Plus, this winter I just can't seem to warm up after I have been out for more than an hour.  I told Norm it probably means that I can't tolerate winter like I used to.  That being said, today is sunny and beautiful with the snow everywhere.  I did three Christmas Bird Counts this year and they were all a lot of fun, but it took me hours to warm up afterwards each time.

No birds at my feeder today and from the house all I see are American Crows.  I looked at the T*T guide and the birds are wonderful.  Can't wait but still have lots to get done here for while I am away and also PACK without forgetting something important, like my binocs!  I did this when we left for 6 weeks last December, had to buy a cheap pair in Dallas.

So four more sleeps before we leave!!
